President's Message
Members and colleagues – welcome to ISACA Willamette Valley Chapter
website. As the
2009-2010 Chapter President, I am planning to carry on the
traditions of this chapter as a place where professionals in audit,
IT security, and compliance can find current relevant information
and networking opportunities.
Also, we endeavor to help you maintain professional
credentials and provide a resource to the community at large.
If you are a member already, I thank you for your membership and I
hope this year you will take an active role in the chapter and take
advantage of our monthly meetings and other events.
I suspect you will agree with me that an ISACA membership is of
unique value in today’s world.
It seems very relevant as you consider the news; this is the
era of cyber crime, financial meltdowns, privacy breaches, and a
host of other technical, security and compliance problems.
Where should businesses and government look for advice and
solutions to these problems?
I think management will look to the professions that ISACA
represents– and it our challenge to provide leadership and best
practices. The chapter
will help you in this mission: helping with information on how to
identify risk and threats, how to securely process critical
information, and how to maintain compliance to standards,
regulations and laws.
I think it is an important time for all of us to take renewed pride
and commitment in our profession. And, if you are not a member, I
would invite you to consider joining us. Our chapter can also help
you achieve and maintain professional certifications, and meet your
colleagues from around the region.
I believe the organization exists for the benefit of the members, so
please let me or any board member know how we are doing.
I look forward to an excellent year ahead and success for all
of us.
